Anne

So, you want to know more about me, you silly, silly person...

I guess you could say I'm the senior looney in this bin. Both in age, and rank, but only because I'm the idiot who bought a laser. I married John, birthed Lexi, and informally adopted Neeley when she found herself half a country away from her family.

I've been crafting for as long as I can remember, but I have a pretty short attention span, so I tend to switch my focus often. I know how to knit, crochet, cross stitch and do other needle point. I used to do a lot of papercrafting, card making and scrapbooking. I've studied calligraphy, hand lettering, and typography. I'm also well versed in digital design, and I used to own a contracting firm for graphic design and desktop publishing.

A little over ten years ago, when the great recession hit, all of my digital contracts dried up as companies cut costs. So I went back to school and became a nail tech. After graduating, I opened a nail salon, and that's how I met Neeley. Being a nail tech and salon owner has been a lot of fun and very rewarding. It also fuels my crafting habit, allowing me to experiment with creativity through nail art.

However, in the great dumpster fire of 2020, my salon had to close, and even when we were allowed to reopen, we could only safely do so much. So I got back into crafting on the regular, this time focusing on making a miniature haunted dollhouse. Making miniatures has hit on a lot of the mediums I've worked in before, just in a smaller scale, like my nail art. It almost feels like everything I've learned up until now is tying into this new craft I'm perfecting.

But, I have a short attention span, so we'll see what the future brings.

The one thing I do know is that while my focus may change, I'll never stop crafting. It keeps me a little closer to sanity, when the world feels like it's going insane.

Thanks for joining me in this endeavor; hopefully we'll learn lots of fun new things along the way!
